RETAIL INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS GROUP-LINKEDIN

Hello Everyone!
October is already turning out to be a busy month for our group! Once again, I have had to put in a request for the LinkedIn site to increase our member size as we are approaching 10,000 members! On our Ning site we are only approaching the 3,000 member mark so I hope to try to get more folks to join us from LinkedIn to Ning.

Last month, featured group member Keith Anderson made a FANTASTIC suggestion for our Ning website. Instead of having General Discussion areas Keith thought it may promote more networking & discussions if the Forums area could be more specialized with categories. As of today, I have set up numerous & specific categories for members to interact, post discussions, ask questions/advice, offer advice & network. As this is a new feature I would welcome your feedback and certainly if I have missed a crucial category, please let me know.

At the annual GMDC (grocery, drug chains, 8 minute one on one meetings) we had a series of round table discussions. The dollar table was the most interesting to us since www.simplymagazine.net is in that business.
Many retailers now have dollar zones as well, of course, as the dollar chains themselves.

Would welcome such a discussion area: How to benefit your employer; yourself; and the consumer.
